We are pleased to share that the emerging photonic techniques employed at the iPhotoCult project are presented at the current issue 37 of the Laserlab-Europe Newsletter.

Two emerging photonic technologies, non-linear optical microscopy (NLOM) and optoacoustic (OA) imaging are promising in the service of the future of our past offering high-resolution structural and chemical analysis of different types of Cultural Heritage objects.

Indeed, innovative non-invasive diagnostic technologies can be used to acquire vital information from Cultural Heritage artefacts and monuments. This information can provide advanced warning of risks related to material degradation and structural integrity, and is key to devising optimal conservation strategies that will prolong the lifespan and preserve the aesthetic value of Cultural Heritage objects.
