September 2025

Τhe 1st Annual Consortium Meeting of iPhotoCult took place on September the 8th in Bucharest, bringing together all consortium partners to present the progress achieved during the first year of the project. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss scientific and technical advancements, evaluate ongoing activities across work packages, and align on the next steps towards achieving the project’s objectives. Partners also exchanged valuable insights on management, dissemination, and future collaboration. The event reinforced the strong commitment of all members to deliver impactful results and to contribute to the preservation and promotion of Europe’s cultural heritage.

iPhotoCult also, in collaboration with INOE 2000, co-organized the “Lasers in the Conservation of Artworks” (LACONA XIV) conference, held between 9 – 12 of September 2025 in Bucharest, Romania. LACONA is the international conference on advances in photonic techniques for diagnostics and conservation-restoration of cultural heritage. For almost 30 years, it has brought together researchers, conservators, and restorers from public institutions and private enterprises to discuss novel approaches in non-invasive material characterization, conservation treatments, and monitoring based on photon sources and sensors. Four oral and four poster contributions were presented with the support of iPhotoCult with one poster receiving the best poster award by MDPI. Furthermore, INOE organized an iPhotoCult workshop communicating the Project to the public and exhibiting a UAV demo.
